In between rain storms on Monday afternoon I met up with Sebastian Urschel, the owner and GM of Simone Lounge, to ask him a few questions. Simone Lounge sits just off the Square next to a jewelry store and in front of Vigne, a wine shop and restaurant. The new bar/venue has been gaining popularity for its cool décor and laid back environment, but it has been causing some drama with the neighbor Vigne because of Simone’s loud late night music.
On the prior Saturday, the owner of Vigne publicly had some aggressive and angry words with Urschel over the music and tobacco smoke coming from the club. While this has been an obstacle for the fledgling club to overcome, Urschel is hopeful that Vigne and Simone’s will come to an agreement that would help both businesses.
We spoke about the origins of the name of the club, a little about the drama, and what the future holds for the new venue. Get to know a little about the man behind the curtains and watch the video interview below.
